Introducing Business Executive Trevor Edwards

Trevor Edwards is a business executive who works for Nike, Inc. He is their corporate vice president of global brand management. He’s responsible for creating and carrying out the company’s global strategy. This includes overseeing its designs and communication. He is responsible for Nike working with top athletes such as Serena Williams and LeBron James. Subsidiaries of Nike he works with include Exeter Brand Group LLC, Bauer Nike Hockey Inc and Converse.

He was born in London, England. Trevor Edwards’ father was an accountant and his mother a nurse. When he was thirteen years old, his family moved to Jamaica. He didn’t like Jamaica at first because it has a completely different culture than England. While he was a minority where he grew up because he’s black, he was a minority in Jamaica because he was from England. He was often teased about his British accent, but he grew to love living in Jamaica. While there, he learned to appreciate new cultures and perspectives.

While in high school, Trevor Edwards learned German, French and Latin. He attended Baruch College in New York and earned a degree in business in 1984. In 1989, he earned an MBA. His career began at Goldman Sachs, where he managed the wealth of wealthy investors. He didn’t enjoy this work, though, and began working in marketing at Colgate-Palmolive. It was in 1993 that he joined Nike and has since had numerous promotions.
