Clayton Hutson Reveals His Career In The Live Entertainment Industry

Clayton Hutson talked in a recent interview about his experiences in the live entertainment industry. He says that one of the most important things for him personally is to always look at things from the view of the artists he works with in this industry. He also works really hard to make sure every single night of a tour is something that blows the audience away and exceeds their expectations.

Having been in the industry for two decades, Clayton Hutson says that he has built a vast amount of experience in many areas of holding a concert tour. It was after having been in the industry for several years that he felt comfortable enough to launch his own company. He says that he learned a lot of skills from all of his previous positions and he could manage every possible aspect of managing a live entertainment event. When he firmly decided to start his own business was during the recession when the company he was working for at the time started to have difficulties lining up clients and paying employees.

As a stage manager, Clayton Hutson is responsible for keeping track of very detail so that a musician can hold their concert successfully. He gets to each venue hours before everyone else shows up, he says. That gives him time to piece together the schedule for the day and complete a walkthrough as well as complete other tasks. Over the course of his career he has worked with some of the biggest acts in the industry. This includes Pink, Prince, Jennifer Nettles, One Republic, Garbage, Aaron Lewis, Guns N’ Roses, and Kanye West among them. Clayton Hutson is a graduate of Central Michigan University. He majored in theatre design and technical production in their Fine Arts program. He also holds an MBA he earned at this university’s Stephen Ross School of Business.

    A fast one in the entertainment industry is getting all the infrastructure that is needed and this same people will have to get interesting.
